Graduate Project Controller

We have an opportunity for a Graduate Project Controller to join us in our UK Team. We are currently recruiting for our teams based in London, Manchester and Stockton.


The Graduate Project Controller will work as part of the Project Controls Function. Our team is involved in projects covering a wide range of sectors including refining, petrochemical, bulk commodity chemicals, fine chemical and pharmaceuticals.


As a graduate under the supervision and mentorship within our team, you will focus your learning to apply theoretical principles to defined tasks. You will be involved in the review of project processes, utilising your current knowledge-based experience whilst learning the broader theoretical principles related to Project Controls.


Our structured programme is designed to provide graduates joining the project controls community of Worley with first-hand training and development, ensuring that they gain the knowledge, skills and experience required for them to contribute positively to the wider Worley business.


You’ll be

  • Cost
o Getting exposure to, learning and understanding all elements of the cost control function
o Executing cost and change control in accordance with project and company procedures
o Learning and understanding contract and project scope
o Producing internal and client cost reports to an agreed programme on projects
o Liaising regularly with Engineers, Project Teams, Projects Accounts and Finance
o Assisting lead cost engineers with Workshare Project Setup and Cost Reporting
  • Planning
o Preparing and updating project programmes to incorporate feedback from disciplines and produce appropriate control reports to suit the project requirements
o Preparing planning information for reports, including schedules, histograms and progress curves as required
o Incorporating changes to the scope of work into programmes
  • Proposals
o Assisting in preparing proposals following the sales process and working closely with the sales team
o Assisting in schedule development for proposals in software such as MS Project and Primavera
  • General
o Undertake ECITB Certificate in Project Controls - a comprehensive programme covering all aspects of project controls, estimating, planning, scheduling, risk etc. Learners are taught through a blend of classroom workshops (online or face to face), assessments and simulated project work over a period of 9 months.
o Undertake ECITB Diploma in project control practice and techniques (RQF) – level 3 (England), equivalent to level 6 in Scotland (SCQF)

You’ll have

  • You will be in your final year of study of a bachelor’s or master’s level degree or have graduated within the past 3 years from any degree discipline
