Who we're looking for
If you've just finished your A-levels or your BTECs and are interested in learning how a business future-proofs itself by doing business sustainably then this trainee programme provides you with a chance to learn and explore the world of work. On this programme, you'll be part of our Corporate Sustainability Team within the Corporate Management part of our business. We apply the same values and high standards to our business that we ask of the companies we invest in. Furthermore, we want to be a leader in this space; our corporate sustainability strategy aims to accelerate improving equality and protecting our planet's resources.
Although you may have never heard of Schroders before visiting our website, this trainee programme could be for you because key to the purpose of the programme is to teach you about what, why and how we do what we do.
As a trainee, you will receive ongoing training designed to develop throughout the year, where you will have the chance to improve your skills as well as your technical knowledge. We support you to take the Investment Foundation Certificate, which is a professional industry qualification and you'll be paid competitively above the London living wage.

The base

Investment20/20
You will join as a trainee as part of the Investment20/20 programme, you will have opportunities to meet and network with trainees and apprentices across the industry and participate in training, socials and insight events.

You will work closely with the Global Head of Corporate Sustainability and Corporate Sustainability Executive to support the delivery of these commitments and learn about all aspects of corporate sustainability at Schroders. The issues will be varied and often complex and multi-dimensional. You'll be busy, hands-on and can-do.
You will work with the Global Head of Corporate Sustainability and Corporate Sustainability Executive on a number of initiatives and tasks, including but not limited to:
- Developing corporate sustainability content and supporting in responding to RFPs (requests for proposals)
- Developing our initiatives under ‘People', ‘Planet' and ‘Community' so that we can manage, monitor and report on our progress and impact
- Analysing new developments in sustainability best practice (e.g. frameworks or initiatives) or regulation/legislation
- Developing and co-ordinating Schroders response to key disclosures
- Measuring our performance across various sustainability issues like climate change, biodiversity, modern slavery and comparing it with our competitors.
- Producing materials for committee and working group meetings
- Supporting with multiple multi-stakeholder projects with competing deadlines
- You must be 18 years old by 4 September to apply for the 2023 intake
- You must have gained A-levels (or equivalent) in any subjects – no minimum UCAS point required
The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help
- Genuine interest in Corporate Responsibility /sustainability/ Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) issues
- A sustainability related module or course or relevant work experience (desirable not essential)

- Logically minded with a good attention to detail
- Intellectually inquisitive – be passionate and curious about sustainability
- Open minded, collaborative and flexible – happy to get involved in a variety of tasks and projects
