Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner
Fixed Term - One Year
18.75 Hours
A one year temporary opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join the Assistive Technology Service at the SMART (Southeast Mobility and Rehabilitation Technology) Centre, Astley Ainslie Hospital, Edinburgh. The SMART Centre (www.smart.scot.nhs.uk) provides highly specialised clinical rehabilitation technology services across the southeast of Scotland.
As part of a dedicated Allied Health Professional(AHP) Therapy team the post holder will be allocated a delegated patient caseload by the qualified AHP and be expected to work independently within the Disabled Living Centre (DLC) assessing the patient’s needs in relation to equipment for daily living.
The post holder will support the qualified AHP staff by taking an active clinical role and providing advice and information in person or on the telephone in relation to equipment and services. The post holder will also be involved in developing the DLC service and participating in the current transformational changes within the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership.
