Vacancies have arisen within the Estates Department of NHS Lothian at St John's Hospital, Livingston, for a Maintenance Mechanical Engineer. The successful applicant will be required to carry out maintenance and repair of building services, plant and equipment, heating services, boiler plant, pumps and machinery, mechanical services, HVAC plant, steam boilers, piped medical gas systems and pressure systems. Applicants must have served a recognised apprenticeship within a Mechanical discipline and have appropriate experience working on building and engineering services, preferably within a healthcare environment This is an Agenda for Change Band 4 position with a salary scale of £27,598 - £30,019 The post is eligible for a Recruitment & Retention Premium (RRP) of approx £3744 and enhanced rates for unsociable hours worked in addition to the basic salary. A flexible approach to work is essential as variations to the standard working week may be necessary, to provide shift cover and the level of service required. Applicants must be willing to participate in an on call, an early, day and backshift. A current driving licence is essential.
