This post requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/ record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group (i.e. child and/or adult) then an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.
Please note: As this post is part-time the salary will be pro-rata.
The duties require the collection of blood without harm to patient, self or specimen and with minimal
disturbance to the nursing process, followed by prompt delivery of labelled specimens and request forms
to the laboratory.
These duties would normally be performed following written protocols under the supervision of an
experienced health care professional and in accordance with Trust safety requirements.
The post holder is required under the Health and Safety at Work regulation to take reasonable care of
himself/herself and others in carrying out the duties of the post and to co-operate with the Trust Health and
Safety matters.
