Exciting opportunity to join the Microbiology Team at University Hospital Monklands.
You will process a broad range of specialist and routine laboratory diagnostic investigations in Microbiology using a range of scientific measurements and technical procedures on patient samples and provide advice to clinicians and other healthcare staff as to appropriateness of tests and time-scales.
You will be responsible for own work and use specialist training to operate complex equipment and solve problems as well as act as a mentor to less experienced Biomedical Scientists and participates in training /supervision of Trainee Biomedical Scientists and Medical Laboratory Assistants.
You must hold registration with the Health Professions Council and have a BSc honours degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent, which is acceptable for Health Professions Council registration.
You will have formal evidence of specialist knowledge of a range of discipline specific procedures and evidence of continuing professional development, for example, a specialist portfolio of development, attendance at specialist courses, training on new instrumentation and learning through reflective practice.
