Please note this is may be a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
We are recruiting for a Senior Health Care Support Worker – Community the post holder will deliver high-quality care in accordance with the guidance given and work delegated by registered nurses. The post holder will ensure a person-centred approach to care delivery which is safe and effective to ensure and maintain quality strategy. You will also be expected to work unsupervised and exercise initiative when providing patient care however, a registered nurse will be available for advice and guidance. You will support the nursing team to ensure the effective utilisation of resources. You will provide assistance within a variety of settings as required e.g. patient’s home, treatment room. You will Assist in the delivery of high-quality care to meet patient needs and also assist clinicians within a variety of clinical settings as required. Following appropriate training, the post holder will carry out tasks as delegated by a registered nurse, e.g. blood pressure, and phlebotomy. You will also support patients, relatives and carers in order to achieve optimum health and person-centred outcomes.
KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB
- SVQ3 in healthcare, or working towards, or equivalent experience working within a caring environment/role.
- Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary/agency team.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to carry out assigned patient care tasks effectively within a busy environment.
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- To actively participate in the Personal Development Plan process to fulfil the requirements of continuing professional development.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology
The Post Holder must have a Full UK driving license and access to a car.
