NHSL is seeking to appoint 12 x Band 6 pharmacists into the three hospital pharmacy sites - University Hospitals Hairmyres, Monklands and Wishaw. Applications from current trainee pharmacists or registered pharmacists will be welcomed.
You will have MPHARM degree / achieved registration with GPhC and a desire to work and train within a fast paced hospital environment as part of the pharmacy and wider MDT team. Once registered on the foundation training programme you will be supported by a tutor and the Education and training team to work through various clinical areas within the pharmacy covering ward based clinical duties ultimately qualifying as an Independent Prescriber.

If you’re newly qualified or looking for a new challenge, we have an opportunity for a permanent or fixed term pharmacist positions across NHS Lanarkshire. Applications will be accepted from current Foundation Training Pharmacists.
The post holder will provide patient focused pharmaceutical care and support the efficient and timely supply of pharmaceutical advice and medicines. This will involve rotating between different clinical specialties, as well as specialist placements within medicines information and aseptic services. In addition, you will undertake the new Post-Registration Foundation Programme to get you career off to a flying start and be supported by our friendly pharmacy department as well as our education and training team.
The ability to work under pressure and being able to plan, prioritise and organise workload are essential for this post.
You should have experience in patient information/education and the ability to effectively monitor patients therapeutic regimens in order to ensure effectiveness and reduce toxicity and be able to work under their own initiative and as part of a team.
You should also have good verbal and written communication skills, self motivation, good interpersonal skills and demonstrate good customer awareness/focus.
This role will involve working weekends and public holidays and the need to participate in pharmacy emergency duty service
