The White House nursery and pre-school is located in Patcham. We are a innovative day nursery that offers full, flexible childcare for children from birth to 5 years. We aim to deliver the best care possible, to inspire independence and imagination, and educate each unique child to ensure the best start for all the children in our care.

We have been inspired by ‘The Curiosity Approach’ so the environment is carefully designed to spark the child’s interest and provide the child with endless opportunities to develop in the seven areas of learning.

When entering The White House Nursery and Pre-School you will notice we have access to real objects and the use of plastic in the environment is limited. The children learn that we need to care for and respect the environment.

Staff encourage the children to be independent and to explore and engage in the environment. We believe in helping the child to help themselves.

We are currently looking for a 1-1 support worker who is confident, enthusiastic and approachable. The ideal candidate will work a minimum of 15 hours a week, 1pm-4pm but can be topped up with hours in the Nursery as a practitioner. if the candidate would like. This is optional. The ideal candidate will;

- have experience being a 1-1 before however training can be provided if not

- have some experience working with children who have learning difficulties

- experience working with children

- have a hands on can do attitude and be willing to work on their own and as part of a team

- have experience working with outside agencies

The Job Involves;

- ensuring the child is integrated into the nursery life with ease, being included in all activities and play and making adaptations where necessary to aid this

- contributing towards SEN plans and writing these based on information provided to you to help the child

- safeguarding not only your 1-1 child but all children within the setting

- supporting children during meal times and making sure that this transition is smooth

- making sure that the nursery environment is as safe as possible

- being a positive role model

Salary: From £11.00 per hour
