Job description
We are looking for a part time (3 days per week) Nursery Practitioner to join our team. We are looking for highly dedicated individuals committed to providing the highest standards of care in our Nursery. You will need to be a hands on person and an excellent role model.
We are looking for a dedicated and caring Nursery Assistant to work as a one-to-one support worker for a child with additional needs.
Our ideal candidate will have some experience of working with children 1:1, and have knowledge of children with additional learning needs.
Applicants will:
- Support and nurture the child to help them access the full early years curriculum.
- Be adaptable, and able to plan and deliver engaging and creative activities for the child.
- Build close relationships with the child and their families, external professionals, and the rest of the nursery team.
- Work as part of a team within a busy, yet rewarding, early years environment.
- Have a sense of fun—with a genuine passion for bringing this child through life’s learning adventures.
- Follow and contribute to our Policies and Procedures.
- Working hours are Tuesday – Thursday 13.00-18.00
Responsibilities and Duties
- Ensure that all children attending the setting are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development.
- Observe and support child development.
- Maintain accurate and effective children’s records.
- Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members.
- Ensuring that all legislation in relation to special needs, safeguarding and Health and Safety is complied with.
Qualifications and Skills
- Ideally have at least 12 months experience
- Must have a level 3 qualification in child care not Health and Social care
- An excellent knowledge of the EYFS and experience of working with children and families
