We are recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapy professional to join our
management team leading social care services for adults in the Craven area.
You
will play a key role in supporting the Service Manager in the delivery of
services, through the supervision of staff, responsibility for delegated
aspects of budget management and contributing to practice and performance
improvement.
You will lead and be responsible for a
dedicated team of Occupational Therapists within the locality, manging specific
portfolios, and with responsibility for developing and disseminating specialist
practice, process and performance knowledge and skills to staff within the
team, and providing specialist advice.
The OT team promotes people’s
independence and self-care whenever possible, working closely with our hospital
discharge, community assessment, and reablement teams. The team works with
people to identify how their environment can promote their independence. This may be through advice for self-purchase or provision of equipment,
adaptations or creative solutions to enhance daily living.
People will be supported through
seeking funding, mainly Disabled Facilities Grants, to make their homes
suitable for the longer term. We work in close partnership with housing,
health partners, independent providers of care and primary care.
The team manager has a key role in
working with community therapy partners to develop innovative services
providing more closely integrated health and social care. Our Occupational
Therapists provide support for safeguarding concerns where their professional
expertise is required and Team Managers may take the role of Safeguarding
Concerns Manager.
We ask that you have a professional
Occupational Therapy qualification and registration with the HCPC and have a
comprehensive knowledge of current legislation, including the Care Act, Mental
Capacity Act, Equalities Act, Deprivation of Liberty, Best Interest

In return, we can offer you a range of
benefits including generous leave entitlement, a local government pension
scheme, salary sacrifice and employee discount benefits as well as plentiful
training and development opportunities.
The role involves a flexible, hybrid
approach to working, with a blended approach to home office and community based
working.
